About

Hi, I'm Rachel Hannah

I've always loved drawing and art from a young age and studied fine art at university. I continued my passion of painting through my 20s mostly in acrylic through family commissions and children's murals. My love for abstract painting and bold colours began in my teens, I love the likes of Pollock and Matisse and have an admiration for impressionism.

I live in Cardiff with my three young children and recently I fell in love with a new style of painting when my close friend came to me and asked for an abstract meadow painting. I could've painted for days, I had no limits on my creativity, no restrictions in what I wanted to achieve and I felt free. I'd found my niche Pollock style floral freedom on canvas! Art has been great therapy for me.

I am available for commission requests that will brighten up your home or workspace. I am at various shows throughout the year where you can view my work or contact me if local to Cardiff to view my work at my home studio.

I currently have an exhibition up at Barry Hospital 'Vibrant Meadows' running until 8th July 2024.

My Story

The beginning (2013)

In 2013 I decided I would start the process of establishing myself as an artist full time and my friend a life coach commissioned me to do a money tree as one of my first commissions. I enjoyed the process of using vibrant colours and creating an abstract piece of art, I went onto do several children's bedroom murals that year and a mandala for a local yoga studio.

2014 - present

I had a short break while my third child was born and then I took up another commission for my friend who wanted an abstract meadow artwork. I did a bit of research and incorporated my style into her painting. I enjoyed working with plenty of texture and colour and felt a deep passion to continue as a meadow artist going forward. The response I have had is overwhelming and spurred me onto continue developing myself through my artwork and exploring over time new subject matter.

Testimonials

I get up in the morning and make a cup of tea... walk past Rachel's painting and it sets me in a good mood even if the cloud is on the deck. Every time I walk into the room I look and smile, sip a glass of wine in the evening before bed and look at the painting. Everyone who visits has something to say about her beautiful painting. Thanks, Rachel!
Chad, West Wales
In almost every room in our house, one of Rachel's gorgeous paintings adorns our walls. We have several original pieces that she customized especially for us as well as some of her signature flower pieces. Guests always compliment us on these vibrant and joyful paintings. Rachel's talent is first class and highly recommend any of her work.
Tiffany, Texas
We are so pleased with the painting, we absolutely love it! It's in our kitchen/diner near the table where there is no window, so it's our portal into another world. A lot of time is spent sitting at our dining table with our family and I know they'll enjoy it as much as us.
Sharon, Cardiff
I asked a local artist to create something to reflect my Dads love of paintings, flowers and his garden. I now have this bright and beautiful painting to remind me of Dad and make me smile even on the darkest of days. Thank you, Rachel, for my little bit of heaven!
Lucy, Cardiff
I bought one of Rachel's meadow prints and framed it, I love the painting, it brings back so many memories of my childhood!
